Your Reaction and Response speak volumes...

Have you ever stopped to consider how your reactions and responses have been received?

Or more importantly, how have these actions affected you and others, both emotionally and physically?

Thoughts and reactions affect our energy. Energy cannot be destroyed, but it does get altered and transformed. Positive and negative energy can be stored and locked into our conscious and subconscious, locked away, out of sight, tucked deep down, festering and affecting every cell in our body. Why would we want to harm ourselves this way?

Making a conscious decision not to let our thoughts create a detrimental energy and feeling is a deliberate one.

Maybe I am getting older and possibly wiser......uuummm!!

Another year older and quietly celebrated, out of the way and perfect. Connecting with nature.

Recently, I have been working for a company, and it has been somewhat challenging, to say the least. I have several times come close to walking away, and yet by continuing, I have had feedback saying I have hugely contributed to creating a safer and better working environment.

So, being called into the boardroom and being let go immediately was something I haven't experienced in my working career. The disappointing part comes from giving my professional opinion and not being fully heard or dismissed due to financial constraints.

The corporate world is far removed from the disciplined Fire Service.

It has troubled me knowing that I have delivered safe instructions and these have them dumbed down and not as effective, and in turn, will not produce the safest results.

You can see, I have many thoughts whizzing around in my head.

And yet, all of these are beyond my control.

So, what is the best option? Let them go.

The things I have learnt about myself, having experienced this working ethos, and compared it to the Fire Service, is that I have gained more confidence and control of myself and my thinking; it has been easy to spot these insecurities and anxieties of others, simply by the way they respond.

How many are not comfortable with 'long pauses'.

I haven't finished speaking, yet, because I pause, someone has dived in and started talking, desperate to fix and solve and be seen.

We are all part of the solution.... Give yourself space to find the answers.

Being an empath, I take notes of body language and see stress very quickly in people's behaviours.

Now, having been blessed with another year around the block, plus, having the new skills I've acquired, I have immediately gone out and secured another 2 jobs.

I am maybe fortunate that I quickly seek out the opposites and strive for a positive result.

I readily acknowledge the negative thoughts and decide not to dwell on them. Placing them back in the ownership of others and not holding them as my own.

When you can accept that nothing is guaranteed, nothing is owed, nothing is a given, you realise that you have lowered your expectations of others, as they may not do things as I would, and that's absolutely fine. We are not in control of others and their actions. How they respond or receive information is not our issue.

In doing so, I am no longer disappointed with the outcomes or responses of others.

This is a slightly deeper one for many maybe....

Some will dismiss and possibly jest, others may ponder and allow the spark of inquisitiveness to flare up. I question everything. I see it from the other's perspective, acknowledging what they must be going through and make allowances for their actions or lack of actions.

Why? Because until you ask and have ALL the information on the table, how can we make an informed decision? This should avoid a prejudiced mindset or influencing of others.

So, give yourself time to look at how you are responding and reacting.

Ask yourself: is this my true response or a stress-triggered response?

Is this the true me?

Am I proud of my actions and words?

ree

If not, then do something about it.

You are ultimately in control of your thoughts, how you behave and react, what you say and do. I am disappointed with many things in the world, and yet, when I look closely, I quickly find and remind myself of the magic and miracles this world offers before me, and I find gratitude in what I have delivered and created, acknowledging my own resilience and strengths.

How I portray myself and the standards I hold, I work on daily.

I hope, to influence and leave a positive impression on those I meet.

Be the light and the positivity that walks into a room.

Take responsibility for the energy you bring into a room.

You decide...
